Reviews: Tenney Grant Craft Kit and another AG Haul?

I got my Tenney Grant Bracelet Craft Kit a while ago but still haven't done anything with it yet. (Oops!)

I did open it though. Not sure if it had to do with it being on sale or something, but the instructions sheet was not stapled together and was separated.

The thread seems to be good quality and had multiple colors to pick from. There's also elastic thread and lots of beads.

Beads -
Come in shapes such as round (small and big), square, oval, and cylindrical.
Colors are: Black, Clear Transparent White, Shiny Silver, Shiny Gold, Dark Red, Medium Red, Coral, Light Orange, Dark Orange, Yellow, Lime Green, Light Green, Several shades of blue, Five shades of Purple, Six different Pinks.
There's also 12 rectangular white beads with words on them like "peace", "love" and "forever".

Thread - Pink, 2 Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.

The Charms are really fun. There's stars, music notes, even a bird charm. I'm using the metal charms for Ellie's necklace but saved the rubbery ones.

It comes with a foam wheel for making the bracelets and a plastic tweezers with a spoon on the other end for beads.

Overall this was a great set. It is still on sale on the Kohl's website so if you shop on Kohl's check it out.

I'm going to make some bracelets with it soon and I will take pictures. I might do some GOTY inspired jewelry with them.

Stay tuned for my second AG Haul!

My first AG Haul!

I'm so excited to have done my first American Girl haul thanks to their Last Chance clearance section. Here's what I got

1: 12 Days Until Christmas Set
I was super excited when I saw the Nutcracker themed Christmas countdown was for sale. This was one of the main reasons I did this haul. I won't be opening it until Christmas of course. I'll give a full review of it then!

2: Doll Decades Craft Book
This is the second reason I did the haul. It's the final craft kit I didn't have yet and I'm very happy about getting it. It has crafts themed to different eras starting at the 1890's and ending at 2010's. It has punch-out crafts such as a smartwatch, laptop, and fancy hand fan. It also includes really cute light blue glasses, a diner order pad, and a fold-out dance floor.

3: Fringe Vest
I think this was probably part of last year's summer Mix n Match set. It's a cute coral colored lacey vest with fringe that would look good with lots of outfits for summer.

4: Purrfectly Warm Winter Accessories
I know this was definitely part of last winter's Mix n Match Set. When I first saw it I knew I wanted it and I'm happy to finally have it. It's black fingerless mittens with silver hearts and super-cute matching cat ear earmuffs with silver glitter on the ears. 😻

5: Sea Breeze Top
This was from the same set as the Fringe Vest. It's a light blue tank top with a ruffled part at the top, perfect for summer.

6: Seashell Lace Tank
Another part of the set with the previous tank top and fringe vest. This is a light pink tank with lace at the top.

7: Set of 10 Hangers
I just really needed more hangers. It's necessary when you have a lot of doll clothing, and these were basically $1 each! Also they're made to also hang up a skirt or pants on them too. One thing I did notice is some other brands and handmade pants, etc don't stay on very well.

8: Starry Sunglasses
Lily and Ellie actually don't have a lot of sunglasses or glasses in general. These are sunglasses that are light blue with pink stars on the sides.

9: AG Swim Accessories for Dolls
It's a soft white swim towel with pink stars & American Girl embroidered on it that has an attached bag, a readable summer themed magazine, plastic translucent pink star print water bottle, and a pink polka dot sunscreen bottle. It's summer after all! This set had clear elastic bands holding the water bottle & sunscreen on the cardboard, which I kept to help my dolls hold them, since unlike newer sets they don't have handles.

10: Stripes & Dots Swimsuit
I got the black, pink and white striped and polka dot swimsuit to go with the sunglasses and swim set. Lily and Ellie didn't have a swim suit yet for summer photoshoots. I think Ellie might have claimed this one though.I
It's made of a swimsuit material and the top zips in front and bottoms have elastic waistband.
Since I don't have an AG doll yet, I was curious how it'd fit on my OG doll, Ellie. It doesn't look the same as it probably would on an AG doll but still fits easily.

I do have one last thing that isn't coming until later on. The thank you heroes nurse outfit. It's going to be perfect for some Photostories I have planned. I also have a Tenney Grant Bracelet making set that came yesterday that I'll review soon.  I'm excited to use some of the charms for Ellie's changeable charm necklace.

My final thoughts.
I know it's not AG's fault, just the shipping company's, but my package arrived late. (Was supposed to be Wednesday, came on Sunday.)
I will give five stars for the packaging itself. The two shirts, swimsuit, sunglasses & vest were on cardboard and in plastic. They were easy to remove from the cardboard, unlike other brands who use thread & plastic ties to hold things on. The Swim Accessories were also on cardboard in plastic but the water bottle and sunscreen were held in by elastic, which wa was easy to remove. The winter accessories were in plastic and in a box.

Packaging - ★★★★★
Quality - ★★★★★
Price - ★★★★★ (Although they were on sale after all!)
Does it work with other dolls? So far, yes, the clothes fit Our Generation dolls, and should fit Madame Alexander since they're skinnier than OG. I don't have a My Life As doll but I feel like the clothes would be big on them? Not sure.

You can find most of the stuff on the Last Chance clearance section except I don't see the swimsuit on it anymore so that might be sold out. If you're on the website and tap the three lines to open categories Last Chance is right under Sale.

Lily Reviews: Charm Boots Craft Kit

Lily here again for another Lily Reviews.
We recently got the American Girl Charm Boots Craft Kit for Christmas. Well, here's our review...

Ratings - 1 to 5 stars. 1 is bad, 5 is good.
Difficulty: ★
The kit required a lot of getting the needle through the charn without, oh no, losing the thread out of the needle. It also required the ability to tie a square knotknot. And making tassels.

Quality: ★
The elastic on the boots barely stretches enough to get the button through. We had to use some of our own thread because we ran out because the knots didn't stay and we had to redo them.
Also, the needle threader broke.

Fun play - wise: ★★★
As soon as the charms are added they are really cute boots.

Would we recommend it?
Well, unless you want a LOT of work, then no. I'm certain the Charm Flats aren't any different.

Signing off!

Review: Doll Celebrations AG Craft Kit

First of all, it says it comes with:

  • 32-Page How-to Book
  • 5 sheets of punch-out cardstock for a checkerboard and pieces, book covers, a kinara, a guitar, Easter masks, a picture frame, and a sign for each month.
  • 1 sheet of glitter cardstock for a guitar and Christmas ornaments.
  • 1 sheet of stickers for a calendar clock, a smiley-face shirt, Canadian flags, valentines, and Easter masks.
  • 1 large sheet of paper for a doll-sized Christmas tree.
  • 2 matching hook-and-loop -fastener bracelets for dolls.
  • 5 sheets of fun paper for a wind sock, ice cream cones, Canadian flags, pet collars, a picnic basket, a photo of a doll & cat, a Hanukkah banner, Valentine's day cards, and Christmas ornaments.
So not much really. Now lets see what is the craft for each month.
  • January: a calendar clock (supposably for new years day); Indoor clouds and a punch-out sign for Martin Luther King Jr Day; A no-sew blanket.
  • February: 4 Valentines, 2 hearts 2 cards, for Valentine's Day; For Presidents day we just get to "dress up a white doll tee"; 2 paper collars for Love Your Pets Day.
  • March: Designing a green tulle skirt for St Patrick's Day; Make mini flowers for Plant a Flower Day; and "take a walk in the park with your doll and find small rocks to paint" for Take a Walk in the Park Day.
  • April: a "spilled ice cream cone" for April Fools' Day; A rabbit and chick mask for Easter; "dress up alike" for Look Alike Day.
  • May: A Maypole for May Day; paper lanterns for Cinco de Mayo; Red, White, and Blue lights for Memorial Day.
  • June: A pretend pool for the first day of Summer; The bracelets in the kit for Best Friend Day; A picture of your doll and their cat for Hug a Cat Day.
  • July: Canadian Flags for Canada Day; Fake sparklers for Independence Day.
  • August: Photos for Sisters' Day; a left-handed guitar for Left-Handers Day; 4 mini books for Book Lovers' Day.
  • September: Make a teddy bear for Teddy Bear Day; A checkerboard and pieces for Checkers Day; Make a Picnic Basket for Labor Day.
  • October: Make a ghost costume for Halloween; make a doll sized fancy hat for Mad Hatter Day; Smiley-face Stickers for World Smile Day; Make an owl for Teachers' Day.
  • November: Make a table for Thanksgiving
  • December: Make a paper Christmas tree; A Hanukkah banner; a kinara for Kwanzaa.
I wish there was more crafts included, especially for the big holidays like Christmas or Halloween.

I think this kit is only partially worth it. If you want a sign for every holiday, not month since there isn't one for September, a paper Christmas tree, 4 new books, a checkerboard, a basket (which was hard to put together), 2 easter masks, Canadian flags, a kinara, and a Hanukkah banner it may not completely be of interest.

That's all for now.
